SHISHIDO
These terms apply to every piece ordered from SHISHIDO LIMITED (“SHISHIDO”, “we”). They are written to be read in a few minutes. If anything is unclear, please ask us before confirming your order.
All SHISHIDO pieces are made to order. We do not hold finished stock. Each piece is made for one person, with a stone selected for that person at the time of the appointment. Because natural jade is never the same twice, your piece will differ in color, pattern and translucency from any piece pictured on this site or shown at an appointment.
Orders are placed in person at a private appointment in Hong Kong or Japan, or online by video. Appointments are complimentary and without obligation. Locations and dates are announced on this site and on Instagram.
Ring and bangle sizes are measured at the appointment, or confirmed by the client in writing for online orders. The stone, metal, size and design are recorded on the order confirmation. Once the order is confirmed, changes to size, metal or design cannot be accepted. Resizing after delivery, where technically possible, is offered as a paid service.
Orders are confirmed with full payment at the time of order, by credit card or bank transfer. The order is placed into production only after payment has been received. Bank charges for transfers are borne by the client. Prices are quoted in Hong Kong dollars unless otherwise agreed.
Because each piece is made for one person, orders cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once confirmed. This is what allows us to select and set a stone for you alone.
The only exceptions are the following, which must be reported to us within 7 days of delivery, with the piece unworn:
In these cases we will repair or remake the piece at our cost.
Please allow approximately four months from confirmation of the order to delivery. This includes the ritual, the making by our master jeweler in Osaka, and the paulownia box from Kyoto. We will let you know if the lead time changes for your piece.
SHISHIDO uses natural, untreated Type A jadeite. Each piece is delivered with a certificate of identification from an independent gemological laboratory, together with our own record of the piece. Metals and diamonds are specified on the order confirmation.
Pieces are delivered by insured courier to the address on the order confirmation, or placed in your hands at an appointment. Import duties, taxes and any customs charges in the destination country are the responsibility of the recipient. Please inspect the piece on receipt and contact us within 7 days about any concern.
Care instructions are provided with each piece and on this site. Cleaning and inspection are offered to SHISHIDO clients; repairs and resizing are quoted individually. Damage from impact, chemicals or heat is not covered.

We collect only the information needed to arrange an appointment, confirm an order and deliver your piece: your name, contact details, delivery address, measurements and order records. We do not sell or share this information with third parties, other than the courier and payment provider needed to fulfil your order. You may ask us at any time to see or delete the information we hold about you by writing to info@shishido.co.
